We support a local charity, Solent Mind, who do amazing work in the field of mental health and are very close to our hearts.
We are committed to donating time, and practical skills to assist them and we donate a percentage of our annual profits to help ensure their valuable work continues. We’ve also raised money through our annual sponsored events. So every time you choose Roost Heating, you help us give a little bit back.
The Roost Heating team spent a day repairing the heating system at Solent Minds Mayfield Nurseries.
Did you know that Solent Mind have a wonderful plant nursery: www.mayfieldnurseries.org.uk which raises funds and also offers amazing wellbeing services. It’s well worth a visit, whether you’re green-fingered or not. The Mayfield Nurseries heating system was broken and required quite a big and costly job to repair.
And thanks to the generosity of our customers, our donations exceeded £1000 which helped towards the cost of parts.
The Roost Heating ‘Row for Mind’ raised over £800!
The 13th-19th May 2019 was Mental Health Awareness Week and to support it, we took a day away from our wrenches to embark on a Kayak marathon in aid of our favourite charity, Solent Mind. We paddled 26 miles in our trusty Kayaks* all around the Basingstoke Canal. There were aching limbs and wet bottoms – but a tidy wad of cash was raised and we all had a fantastic day in the Hampshire sunshine.

...and our ‘Ride for Mind’ was a runaway success!
Back in May, the Roost Heating team cycled a whopping 50 miles around the Roost region in aid of Solent Mind. None of us are the kind of cyclists about to give Bradley Wiggins a run for his money so it was definitely a challenge. We toured Southampton, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh and Southampton, just stopping off along the way to service a few boilers and enjoy a smoothie or two.
We were over-the-moon to raise £1,647 with the help and support of our brilliant friends and customers. Thanks again for all the support.
