Going on Holiday? Don't forget to switch off your water at the mains.
If you're heading away on holiday - or just away for a few days - it's worth turning your mains water off before you leave. It only takes a minute, and it can save you coming home to a burst pipe, a slow leak, or a flooded house.
Why it's worth turning your water off
The problem with traditional stopcocks
It may be easier said than done. Traditional brass stopcock taps are often tucked away in the most inaccessible places – difficult to locate and hard to turn, so it’s not always possible to access or adjust them, or it just feels like an extra hassle as you’re dashing out the door.
